Hello!!
Well, we're finally here in Australia! We just landed today and are
trying to settle in and beat jetlag. I wanted to say hello and I
know I've got a whole lot of catching up to do:). I've been
thinking and gushing about you all for the past two and half weeks
that I've been home, but I haven't been near a computer very much at
all.
First and foremost, the bouquet of hands!! I mean, I can't believe
you put that all together. Who thought of that? I was so touched
by the creativity and love that went into every hand. I don't think
I've ever received a gift that was so heartfelt and individual. I
didn't expect it at all and though I tried to hide it I began to cry
a bit just thinking about how far we've come since the beginning of
Hi-5 and how important you all are to us. I spent so much time
looking at each hand and remembering encounters with every family.
I really cannot thank you enough for putting so much work into
something so special.
Also, the last show in Long Beach was an amazing one. I mean, being
in California at all was such a wonderful surprise and addition to
our tour. But, to all of you who came out (especially the dads on
Super Bowl Sunday!) to Long Beach, what a great energy you sent us
away with. We had a late start that day because it was such a quick
change between LA and Long Beach, but you were so ready to play with
us! Before we even reached the stage we could hear you chanting
away and that energy carried us through the entire show! Plus,
there were so many familiar faces out there...it was exhilerating.
I know all three girls have said that "Three Wishes" was an
especially emotional moment for all of us. Seeing each of you in
the audience doing the dance moves and singing along never ever gets
old for us.
The end of the tour was an absolute whirlwind and then it was off to
New York for me to say good-bye to my family and friends and get
ready to film for three months. What you all might not know is that
we didn't have and exact film date until we were in California so,
as I'm sure you can imagine, it has been a huge and exciting couple
of weeks! You'll be happy to know that Scooby and Scrappy (my
kitties, of course) are doing well, but it was hard to leave them.
It's amazing because animals are smarter than we think. They could
tell that I was leaving and they were extra snuggly and sweet in the
days leading up to my departure. But, they are in very good hands
and I left them with lots of yummy kitty treats:).
Everything seems to happen so fast in Hi-5 world, but it's all been
so worth it. The parade was such a treat that could never have
imagined, the tour and seeing all of you was probably the best start
to a year that I've ever had and now arriving back in Australia to
record...I'm totally overwhelmed with abundance!! So, of course,
thank you. Thank you for hanging in there as we have disappeared to
the other side of the globe, but it will be worth it, I promise!
You're really going to love the new songs and episodes...we just met
with the writers today (yes, just after getting off a 22 hour
flight!) and they are as fresh and excited as ever. So, we will be
in touch...there's so much more in store!
Thanks again for the love and support...we're trying to send it back
threefold, but it's a tough job with such dedicated fans! You're
amazing!!!!
Sending you a bit of sunshine from down under...
with great excitement and a lot of love,
Karla
