I'm Back

Hi Everyone!

I just tried to post to the board but the whole message got erased :(.
Here it goes again :).

I'm finally back! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post to the board. I
have got to get to a computer more often while we're filming. So many
exciting things have been happening here. So far we've filmed Four
Songs of the Week, 1 1/2 episodes, and we've recorded 5 SOTW and
an entire Christmas album. We've only heard the 5 SOTW, and we've
even seen 2 of them, and they're really great. Everything about this
show as really developed over the last 2 1/2 years. I know that we as
performers and people have also developed over that time, and it's
really fun to bring that to the new material. Hopefully, we'll be able to
get that to you guys a.s.a.p. I bet all of you probably know every line of
every episode of series 1 and 2 by now :).

I've been wanting to describe to you guys a typical week for us here in
Australia. We start off rehearsing 5 new episodes on Thursday and
Friday, working on our feet with our scripts. We then have the
weekend to go over our rehearsals and lines, bringing as much of our
personalities to the material as possible. Monday is our "Tech" day,
during which we present what we rehearsed to Helena and the Hi-5
creative team. Any changes to our acting style, lighting, lines, props,
director's shots, etc., is made on that day. Then we get to have the
most exciting "shoot" days on Tuesday and Wednesday. We usually use
4 cameras for each segment, and we learn which camerals to look at
on all of our lines right before we shoot. It's really, really cool. In the
end, every segment usually has a funny story behind it, and of course
we make mistakes here and there that results in a reshoot of a certain
shot or the whole segment.

Well, I hope that gives you more of an idea of what we're up to here.
I'll make sure to write more each week. I've been keeing busy by taking
up guitar lessons, working out at the gym, and going to the beach.

Wow....I'm such a dork sometimes....I was so excited about filming that I forgot to fill you in on our special weekend last weekend....

The gang....minus myself....went to go see the Ben Folds Five concert here in Sydney last weekend. I decided not to go only because I went to Melbourne the weekend before and decided to take it easy. I'm kind of bummed that I missed it though because they all RAVED about it!! I'll let them tell you about it because they're really excited.

Anyhoo, following that story...Jenn met the manager and told him that they were the American Hi-5 cast and wanted to give Ben's children a gift and all that. The manager was so touched by Jenn's generosity that he invited all of us to go to the concert the next day!! Yay!! So I got to go check him out with the gang and it was great!! We all had a great time. Jenn's brother is a HUGE fan of his, and so it was extra special for her to be there. His manager was also able to set it up so that we could meet him afterwards. It was a really quick "meet and Greet"(it was funny being on the other side of the table:)) and we got to take a picture with him...he was really cool..

So now...Ladies and Gentlemen...Boys and Girls..I present...

Hello everyone!!

How's everything going?? Well, wherever you are...I hope all is well. It's Thursday here in Sydney, around 10:45 in the morning. We're rehearsing in studio today, finishing up a week of episodes. We just met with Chris Harriot and learned new songs for the shows. Karla is up now with Body Moves, so I have a little break before it's time for Puzzles. Anyhoo, I just wanted to share with you guys all that's been going on for the past 2 days...We've finished filming 4 songs of the weeks!! FOUR!! And it was awesome!! Jenn and I had the early call on Tuesday...5:45!!...that they we could sit in the makeup chair and have the beautiful ladies in the hair room get us all HI-5ed up!! It was great. They're so fabulous!! I mean, you've seen all the MILLION of hair styles that they do for the show. They really are artists...and good ones too!!

I want to share the names of the songs with you..but I think that might be a suprise. It was really great getting back into filming the songs again. Like filming the episodes...it's as if we've never left. We had so much fun dancing and singing to our new songs!! I mean don't get me wrong...the songs from the first series were AMAZING!! But I KNOW that you will all just be so blown away by the new series.....everything is going to be AWESOME!! Can you tell how excited I am?? I'm using all caps:)

Whenever we film for song of the week.....we do a runthrough with just us so that we can have a little time on stage and also get some shots of us looking at the camera...cause once the kids come in...it's all about them!! And boy were they rocking!!!! These kids were great!! They really were into it!! It's so much fun to perform for them...even though they don't watch our series...the songs and the energy of HI-5 just take over!! It's funny because most of the kids get confused at first...I can't tell you how many times Jenn was called "Charli" or "Kellie"...another girl in the audience couldn't get over the fact that I "looked" like Kathleen...it was really cute. Like our Mall tour show...Cicc warms the kids up by dancing with them(You know how excited he gets with that kind of stuff)...and that gives the director and the cameras a chance to get great shots of the kids dancing. Shaun and I peeked into the editing room earlier today and got a sneak peek of one of the songs...it looks great!! EXCITEMENT!!

We were also able to watch an edited version of one of the songs...it has something to do with music...and it's very "rocky"....oh, I want to say more...but I don't think I can....I wish I could guys. Anyhoo, the song that we saw looks great. You can just see how much fun we're having...and that's good because we're having tons of fun(or heaps as they would say here:)) I really am excited you guys. I heard a rumour floating around the other day that it's possible(don't quote me on this) that the episodes might start airing sooner than planned...keep your fingers crossed!!

Alrighty, I think I have to go now. Curtis and Jenn are rehearsing and then I think I'm up. Yay!! I love you guys and I hope all your days are happy!!
