Hi-5 Journal
August 27, 2004
HiHIHIHIHIHIHIHI!!
Well, it's my birthday today and I didn't want to leave the house without saying "Heeeeeeeyyyyyy!!!" to all my favorite kids and adults on the Hi-5 message board! Wendy, please forgive me for not saying thank you soon for the huge box that apparently is sitting in my mother's home!! I didn't want to say anything until I actually got to see it, but since it looks like I won't be able to do that until at least Sunday I had to acknowledge it today.
Anyway, I have all my birthday gear ready to go! Everyone will be receiving hats and noise makers upon entering my abode. But, I'm really excited to go dinner tonight! I'm a vegetarian and it's often difficult for me to find food, so I've decided to go to this amazing Indian Vegetarian restaurant in the city tonight - it should be a soul and stomach satisfying experience.
Oh, also, my mom told me about the branch site that you've set up for each of us....I think that's the SWEETEST thing!
I'm going to have to run, but I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!!!
love and love and LOVE!!

Back in California
Well HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO!! How is everyone doing out there? Hope all is well with everyone! So, we got a request to write more in the tour journal. So here I am!! I wasn't sure if we should still write in here even though we're not on tour. But you guys are lovin' it so I'm going to try my best to do it more often. I'm sorry it's taken me so long guys. I got really sick after getting back from Toronto. We had to catch a flight right after our second show on Sunday (sorry if we missed some of you, we'll be back I promise) and then they forgot to pack extra blankets on my flight! I was freezing! Anyhoo, I'm feeling much better now. Lots of water and lots of rest always works right? Worked for me! Now I finally have enough energy to say MAHALO Y'all! And I see our very own August Birthday Butterfly, Miss Karla has written in here too....SWEET! I just read her entry and let me just say, Ditto, Double and "Make that 2 please!" Arkansas and Toronto were AMAZING!!! It was so nice to perform together again and to get out there to promote the DVDs. Y'all....everything went perfect. Thank you all again for the support. Chrissy and Trish it was great seeing you and the kids in Arkansas. And thank you for passing out all the gifts from everyone! You were all with us in spirit...believe me we felt your AWESOME energy! It was a hot day in Bentonville, but with the tent up, the display fans going and 2 sets of water on each side of the stage..the show went on and it rocked!! It was like we never stopped touring. We had so much fun! And we were just as excited as everyone else to see the DVDs. I think they look great and I hope everyone is enjoying them.
Now onto Canada. WOWEEEEE! What a ride! I'm so happy we were able to make it up there and meet all of you! The shows went great and all the interviews that we did were awesome. We felt so much love up there and I thank you guys for that. It was nice to see how the show was doing in Canada and it seems to me that things are going great. We had so much fun performing for you all and exploring such a cool city! I loved it and I can't wait to make it back up there. I'm sure we will so we'll see everyone soon!! And to Mommy Zoi (or as her husband Chris called her, "The Chrissy Bridges of Canada) thank you so much for the Toronto Souvenirs! My magnet is on the fridge now. And I wanted to tell you that the roses were gorgeous! I tried to put mine in my hair for our second set of shows, but I couldn't figure it out:( I do want you to know though that a birthday girl came to visit us backstage and I gave the rose as a little gift to her. So it's definitely in good hands. And as Karla mentioned, our Sandy Lion Angels...thanks once again for the stickers! My favorite way to decorate! I love them...we all do...thanks so much for thinking of us. And if I too forgot anyone, I'm sorry, I have so many gifts, cards, everything in my "Hi-5 Treasure Box" and I'm so excited to make a scrap book out of it. I'll surely use the awesome scrapbook that you gave us as a guide :)
Alrighty Mums, Dads, Kiddies and all...I LOOOOOOOVE YOU!! And we will see you guys soon! No final word yet, but there is talk of a fall tour so keep your fingers crossed! Can't wait to sing and dance with all of you guys again!! We love it and I'm glad you guys are loving it too!! Until then, I'm just hanging out in California, taking dance classes and knitting Christmas gifts to keep myself busy:) I'm actually headed off home to Hawaii for a couple of weeks to visit my family. So expect to see a very tan Kimee the next time around. And if there are any kamaaina fans out there...maybe I'll see you at Zippys (a local eating joint...it's awesome..it's like the Hawaiian version of Dennys!) Okay...well, I miss you guys and I'm always thinking of you..Oh...one more thing..funny story:
So I was out with a friend of mine getting a quick bite to eat the Monday we had returned from Toronto. I was thinking about how much fun we had and also I was so excited about the DVDs coming out and all that. I was in the checkout line..and I thought I was hearing things. The little boy in front of us starts singing, "Five in the air let's do it together...HI-5!!!" I couldn't believe it!! I quickly went to him and said, "You know HI-5?" and he got so excited. His Mom didn't recognized me and I asked him if he knew my name. He was a bit shy and didn't say anything at first. His mom then figured out that I was in HI-5 and told me that he actually watches the Australian cast because a friend of his gave him a DVD. Maybe he thought I was Kathleen at first. She said she didn't know when we were on and had only found us once. I filled her in on the times and she said that she would look for us. So hopefully we have another fan:) That just made my day. I was missing you guys so much and then realized that you will always be with us!! YAY!!!
Alright, this is a really long entry....sorry. I'll talk to you all soon.
Much Love love and Aloooooha!!!!

HELLO HELLO HELLO....THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Wow, I have got to express my deepest appreciation to everyone on the message boards! You have made everywhere in the world feel like home for us! I could not believe all the birthday wishes I received while we were away last week...and the little gifts were unbelievable. I didn't know what I was going to do for my birthday this year, but now I feel like I don't have to do anything - I already had the best birthday surprise I could have imagined.
The tour - as you may or may not have heard - was truly incredible. To all of our Canadian fans, wow. Everyone was so sweet, so warm and the kids especially were super fun! I'm just happy that we finally had a chance to visit up there, and judging from the success of everything I wouldn't be surprised if we find ourselves in Canada again quite soon.
Also, the chat group was so much fun! I thought it was so cool that we were finally able to speak to all of you at the same time...the internet is really amazing. Look what it's done for all of us! We can communicate from our homes or anywhere in the world. (Well, there's my plug for the internet - I guess I'm just impressed by how good you all are at using it!)
I wish that I were near all my gifts and pictures so that I can thank you each by name, but everything was so wonderful - the key chain and magnet from Zoi and George, the fun Arkansas paraphanalia from miss Maurah and Chrissy, the stickers and tattoos from Julia and Allison are always AWESOME and how cool to see you all in Toronto, the stationary has already gone to good use, I'm going to have a party with a few friends using my birthday party hats and plates - and I'm not kidding about that (great idea Angela), and of course the collage of pictures from Gillian and her dad, the little purple suitcase of Hi-5 chocolates and bubbles mmmmmm, and all the new pictures made by everyone to put in my memory book. I hope I didn't forget anyone because I'm so impressed by it all. You have, once again, managed to amaze me...I'm so thankful for you love, prayers and support!! Thanks for keeping us on our toes - you mean so much to us! Have wonderful summers and we'll see you in the mornings and on the road...
love,
Karla
